Episode Summary
Bel Riose's military campaign ends not with defeat on the battlefield but with imperial recall — precisely as Hari Seldon's psychohistory predicted. The Emperor, fearing Riose's growing power more than the Foundation's, destroys his own best general.
This mirrors the original novel's resolution perfectly: the forces of historical inevitability are stronger than any individual's military genius. The Empire defeats itself.
On Ignis, with Tellem gone and Salvor sacrificed, Hari and Gaal begin the work of establishing the Second Foundation from the surviving mentalics. Gaal's powers have matured enough to take on a leadership role.
Key Events
- Bel Riose recalled and neutralized by the Emperor
- Seldon's prediction about the general proven correct

Book Connection
The resolution of the Riose storyline is the most book-faithful element of Season 2, closely matching 'The General' from 'Foundation and Empire.' Seldon's prediction about strong generals under weak emperors plays out exactly as written.
