Episode Recap

Aboard the slow ship carrying the Foundation exiles to Terminus, a shocking betrayal occurs: Raych Seldon stabs his father Hari and jettisons Gaal Dornick in an escape pod. The motives behind this act remain ambiguous — was it the act of a traitor or part of a larger plan?

The timeline jumps forward 35 years to Terminus, where the Foundation colony is well-established. Salvor Hardin serves as Warden, protecting the colony from external threats. The mysterious Vault — a floating monolith that creates a null-field repelling all who approach — becomes central to the plot.

Salvor discovers she can approach the Vault closer than anyone else, suggesting she has a unique connection to it. Meanwhile, ships from Anacreon arrive on Terminus, setting up a dangerous confrontation.

Book Connections

The time jump mirrors Asimov's structure of skipping decades between sections. Salvor Hardin's role echoes the books, but her character is entirely reimagined — from male politician to female Warden. The Vault replaces the time capsule hologram from the novels.
